With steady growth, the industry trade fair on the Rhone has established itself since 2015 and is expecting more international audiences with its 1,100 exhibitors, offering numerous specialist events. The highlight once again is the awarding of the prestigious awards such as the "Van of the Year". The sector is intended to become an example for decarbonization.

For its 18th edition, the Solutrans trade fair in Lyon (18-22 November) opens its doors at a time when the commercial vehicle industry and the economy are facing major challenges. Over 90 percent of the exhibition space at the EUREXPO has been booked eight months before the fair, the organizer announced at a press conference. Since 2015, the specialized fair in the industrial metropolis has seen its position as a global hub for heavy and light commercial vehicles solidified, as evidenced by steady growth in exhibitor and visitor numbers. With almost 65,000 visitors in 2023, the event has developed into one of the most important in Europe. Furthermore, the 2025 edition aims for stronger international positioning.

The fair takes place against the backdrop of increasing inflation, rising raw material costs, uncertain political conditions, and fierce competition from the Far East, thus in a complex environment, particularly in the areas of transport, logistics, and mobility. In this regard, exhibitors are more aware than ever that the fair can serve as a platform for opening up new business opportunities. Over 1,100 exhibitors cover the 100,000 square meters of the exhibition grounds. Strong contingents are expected from Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Spain, and Italy. Additionally, a number of exhibitors from Asia are welcomed. The fair is thus intended to reflect a global market in which China has now found its place.

The motto of the trade fair is to help the industry lead by example. The aim is to demonstrate how the sector can become a pioneer in decarbonization in the fields of energy, regulatory changes in Europe, cybersecurity, hydrogen, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence, all of which are also the megatrends of the show. A program featuring international lectures is intended to underscore these topics. The conference will be opened with a plenary session on Tuesday in the presence of representatives from the European Commission, who will engage in a dialogue with industry experts. The organizing industry association FFC is also hosting a lecture for equipment manufacturers, installers, and outfitters to discuss current and future regulatory challenges, including topics like Vecto, Vecto Trailer, GSR II, and the Directive on Weights and Dimensions.

Additionally, there is a broad program of lectures and panel discussions. Key events include a Hydrogen Symposium, an Energy Transition Talk, an Urban Logistic Talk, as well as panels on Cyber Security, Tires, or Infrastructure. A highlight of the show is again the gala dinner on Wednesday, November 19, where over 1,400 guests are expected and prestigious awards such as the Industry Personality of the Year, the 180th anniversary of the FFC, as well as the presentation of the Truck of the Year, Van of the Year, and Pick-up Award will be conferred. The HUSS-VERLAG will also be present as a German member on the jury for the "International Van of the Year".
