In the construction industry, agriculture, and transportation, large amounts of stubborn dirt often need to be removed. With the hot water high-pressure cleaner HDS 18/18-4 S Classic, Kärcher addresses precisely this need: The mobile device is very robust and offers a high flow rate of 1,800 l/h for quickly transporting dirt that is dissolved with hot water and up to 180 bar pressure. Thanks to the Servo-Control regulator, the cleaning performance can be adjusted directly at the gun while working. Additionally, the HDS 18/18-4 S Classic is equipped with flame monitoring, a feature that is typically only offered by stationary devices.
Steel Tube Frame and Durable Crankshaft Pump
In harsh, dirt-intensive environments, a robust construction and good cleaning performance of the devices used are equally important. The HDS 18/18-4 S Classic has a steel tube frame, a durable crankshaft pump, and Kärcher's burner technology. Additionally, crane hooks and wheels ensure that the mobile device can be easily transported from A to B. The full flow rate of 1,800 l/h can be used with one lance. Alternatively, it can also be used with two lances, each with a flow rate of 900 l/h.
With Flame Monitoring
To enable the new hot water high-pressure cleaner to be used as a stationary device, it features flame monitoring, which is required for safe, unattended operation. If the burner's flame does not ignite, the fuel supply is automatically stopped, preventing excess fuel from entering the device or spilling onto the ground.
Easy-Force High-Pressure Gun Makes Work Easier
The ergonomic Easy-Force high-pressure gun utilizes the recoil force of the high-pressure jet to reduce the holding force required by the user to almost zero. The Servo-Control function, which allows the water volume and pressure to be regulated via a control on the gun, also makes working more comfortable. This is particularly useful, for example, when cleaning parts near sensitive electronics after dealing with the heavily soiled shovel of a wheel loader.

Kärcher is currently the best-selling brand of pressure washers
Kärcher has received a Guinness World Records title as the currently best-selling brand for pressure washers. The success is based on a long tradition of innovation and quality. As early as 1950, Alfred Kärcher invented Europe's first hot water pressure washer, and in 1984, the first portable pressure washer for private users followed. Thus, the company has been selling pressure washers for 75 years. Today, "kärcing" is established as a synonym for pressure cleaning and is listed, among others, in the Duden.
Kärcher turns 90
Kärcher celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2025. Founded in 1935 by Alfred Kärcher as a tinkering workshop for heating technology in Stuttgart, the family business developed into a world-renowned brand for cleaning technology. The entry into the cleaning market took place in 1950 with the first European hot water pressure washer KW 350. After Alfred Kärcher's death in 1959, his wife Irene took over the leadership and drove internationalization forward. In 1974, she strategically focused the company on pressure cleaning and established the now well-known Kärcher yellow. Under her leadership, Kärcher became the world market leader. 1984 marked another milestone: the HD 555, the world's first portable pressure washer for private households.
In addition to innovation and a broad portfolio of over 3,000 products related to cleaning and care, sustainability plays a central role. Kärcher is committed to numerous measures for emission reduction, resource conservation, waste avoidance, and circular economy and has been repeatedly awarded for this.
