Volvo Trucks will present its latest products and technologies for more sustainable transport at bauma 2025 (April 7 to 13, Munich). The focus will be on various drive concepts aimed at reducing emissions in the construction industry.
“Transport with electric vehicles is very well suited for the construction industry because they cause no exhaust emissions and much less noise. This is good for the residents near a construction site, for the drivers, the people working on the site, and also for the climate,” says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks.
In addition to battery-electric and fuel cell electric trucks, the company will also present vehicles with combustion engines that can be powered by renewable fuels such as biogas. These different drive systems are part of Volvo Trucks' strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 and to support the construction industry on the path to more sustainable transport.
"Our trucks, which can be powered by biogas, biodiesel, or HVO, are ideal for customers who want to start reducing CO2 immediately," Alm continued.
Decarbonization of Construction Trucks
Since the start of series production in 2019, Volvo Trucks has delivered several thousand electric trucks, including many to companies in the construction industry. The current product portfolio includes various electrically powered transport vehicles such as ready-mix concrete trucks, concrete pumps, tippers, crane trucks, and skip loaders, which can contribute to the decarbonization of construction transport.
In addition to the electric trucks, Volvo Trucks will also introduce vehicles that can be operated with renewable fuels. All of the company's trucks are certified for the use of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and Biodiesel B100.
At bauma 2025, the following Volvo Trucks models will be exhibited, among others:
- Volvo FH Electric, 6x2 skip loader
- Volvo FMX Electric, 6x4 three-way tipper
Additionally, Volvo Trucks will present a special application for electric trucks together with Putzmeister at the Putzmeister stand in Hall B6 on April 7 at 11 am. The company's electric trucks will also be on display at the stands of Liebherr, Meiller Kipper, MTS, Putzmeister, and Schwing Stetter.
