For a year and a half, two Ford Trucks F-MAX 500 have been in the fleet of the Lower Bavarian freight company Niedermaier. The interim results are positive: The semi-trailer trucks impress with high reliability, comprehensive standard equipment, and economic efficiency.

Curiosity about innovations pays off

The forwarding company Niedermaier is open to new things and regularly tests vehicles from various manufacturers to optimally organize the fleet. Managing Director Christian Ach therefore gladly accepted the offer from Ford Trucks Germany to test the F-MAX. The favorable impression from the test phase continued in everyday use.

Particularly positive was the electronic steering of the F-MAX, which significantly eases maneuvering. In addition, the vehicle offers extensive standard equipment with the latest safety technology and efficient drive.

Deployment

Since September 2023, the two F-MAX trucks have been handling both long-distance routes and regional transport. Thanks to the ComFord service contract, maintenance is performed as scheduled without any operational restrictions. According to the freight company's report, with mileages of 285,000 and 140,000 km, there have been no technical issues.

Positive feedback from the drivers

The drivers provide consistently positive feedback, and the F-MAX also attracts attention at public events. At the trucker meetup in Frontenhausen, the Ford Trucks shone alongside vehicles from other brands. Additionally, a humorous social media video by the freight company featuring the F-MAX garnered nearly 23,000 likes on TikTok and sparked discussion.

Looking into the Future

The Niedermaier freight company renews its fleet every three to four years. Although the final decision on further acquisition of Ford Trucks is still pending, Managing Director Ach is optimistic: "If the F-MAX continues to prove itself so excellently, the chances are very good."
