The logistics service provider Fiege has taken over the operational responsibility for fulfillment and distribution of Hisense Gorenje in Germany. As the company explained to the press, the business is being handled in Peine, northern Germany, an existing location of the Fiege Group. Around 35,000 square meters of logistics space are available there.
Hisense Gorenje is one of the world's leading manufacturers of household appliances and consumer electronics. In Germany, the group relies on two logistics service providers – one of which is now Fiege. The service provider handles both warehousing and additional logistical services such as returns processing and value-added services at its location in the metropolitan region of Hanover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg. Nationwide shipping also takes place from Peine.
Fiege emphasizes that the location in Peine is conveniently situated and therefore offers good conditions for national distribution. In addition to warehouse logistics, the company is responsible for the delivery and installation of large appliances to end customers. Thus, Fiege not only provides transport services but also service elements in direct customer contact.
Meike Schmidt-Krenz, Managing Director of the Consumer Products division at Fiege, points to the company's many years of experience in omnichannel logistics.
“We have decades of experience in omnichannel fulfillment and especially in handling consumer products of all kinds. This enables us to offer our customers a high level of service and a special depth of value creation – from warehousing to transport,” says Schmidt-Krenz.
Hisense Gorenje's products include flat-screen televisions, heat pumps, refrigerator-freezer combinations, and washing machines. Fiege not only handles the storage for these products but also manages the handling and final delivery. The company sees itself well-positioned for further business models in the field of consumer goods logistics.
"Our modern location in Peine is perfectly geared towards the omnichannel logistics of consumer goods. We are very pleased to have gained Hisense Gorenje as another renowned customer in the electronics sector," explains Schmidt-Krenz.
