The Bavarian manufacturer beam will present its hybrid steam cleaner SteamCommander from April 7 to 13 at bauma 2025 in Munich. It is suitable for cleaning construction machinery, vehicles, and equipment and is made for tough jobs: With a total power of 18 kW, steam temperatures of up to 184°C, and a steam pressure of 10.0 bar, the unit can tackle even stubborn dirt such as clay, sand, grease, and oil.
The SteamCommander features both a permanent water connection and an integrated freshwater tank with a capacity of 20 liters. This allows it to be used in stationary continuous operation as well as a mobile solution. A highlight of the beam innovation is a Kamlock connection that allows the device to be connected to an industrial vacuum cleaner, turning it from a steam cleaner into a steam vacuum. This hybrid approach is unique in its performance class.
Reduce setup times and costs
"Everyone knows: Time is money on the construction site. If machines or tools are dirty, setup times and costs increase. It is all the more important to keep your equipment in shape to avoid expensive delays. With our devices like the SteamCommander, this can be done efficiently, material-friendly, and also environmentally friendly, as users can completely dispense with chemicals," explains beam Managing Director Robert Wiedemann.
Versatile application areas
Not only can construction companies benefit from the expertise from Altenstadt with construction machinery and large equipment, but also when cleaning the rest of the vehicle fleet or construction containers and all interior spaces – as well as climbing technology such as ladders. For these purposes, the steam vacuum systems of the Blue Evolution series or the Steam Hero from beam are suitable. These steam and vacuum in one operation, so that the cleaned surfaces are quickly dry and ready for use again. By cleaning with dry steam, beam devices save up to 93% water and completely forgo chemicals. Beam will also present its steam vacuum systems at bauma in Munich.
Health Protection – Even in the Driver's Cabin
"Construction companies cannot afford absenteeism due to illness, so health protection is extremely important. This can also be reduced in the driver’s cabins by simply eliminating dust. In this way, the employer prevents eye and skin irritations, as well as respiratory diseases," explains Wiedemann.
Because the devices of the Blue-Evolution series kill germs and bacteria by 99.9% and bind them in the UVC water filter, this significantly increases health protection, especially during times of cold waves.
"Where different drivers use a vehicle alternately, extra hygiene is particularly important," adds Wiedemann.
Clean Footsteps
Work safety can also be significantly increased with the effective cleaning of surfaces.
"Footsteps only maintain their non-slip properties if they are clean. Therefore, they also need to be cleaned continuously. This applies to ladders, platforms, and steps just as much as to walkways, work platforms, and scaffolds. With our steam suction systems, this works wonderfully," says Wiedemann.
Wide Range of Accessories
With their different attachments, brushes, and nozzles, the steam suction systems from beam reach even narrow corners and clean all surfaces quickly and easily. For construction vehicles, these range from vehicle entry points, pedals, and the rubber mats in the footwell to the seats, gear lever, and steering wheels, as well as the glass surfaces and windows. Due to the low moisture content, even sensitive components such as buttons and air vents can be cleaned without any problems.
For sensitive small parts
Since beam's dry steam systems operate with a minimum of moisture, they are also suitable for cleaning ball bearings, pulleys, or chain drives.
"Especially in the service of machines and equipment, it is important to clean and degrease the moving parts before starting disassembly and maintenance. In many applications, powerful dry steam cleaning offers an alternative to high-pressure cleaners. There is less moisture penetration in sensitive areas and, of course, no risk of corrosion. The moving parts are immediately dry again and can be lubricated right away. This reduces setup times and extends the service life," reports Robert Wiedemann.
Hot dry steam
This is how cleaning with beam works: The steam vacuum systems combine steam temperatures of up to 180°C with a steam pressure of up to 10.0 bar and a power of up to 7,200 W. Since devices like the Blue Evolution XL+ steam and immediately reabsorb the dissolved dirt in one operation, the workload is reduced by up to 60%, and the cleaned surfaces are quickly dry and ready for use again. The SteamCommander does without suction, but offers up to 184°C steam temperature with a power of 18 kW.
Everything Included in the SteamTrolley
In the exhibitions of construction companies and building material manufacturers, during the daily cleaning of company buildings, and even for final construction cleaning, the beam systems ensure hygienic high gloss. The all-in-one unit, SteamTrolley, is particularly efficient from room to room: The high-quality metal roll caddy accommodates the steam vacuum systems edition UVC and carbon UVC with all their accessories, features a mop steam module, and offers additional space for storage buckets and waste containers. Every nozzle, rubber lip, and brush attachment has its place.
