A revised version of Castrol's online product search tool has recently become available. As the English provider of lubricants for the automotive, aviation, and industrial sectors announced in its press release, the search for engine lubricants, transmission oils, brake fluids, or even radiator protection products for a wide range of vehicles has been simplified. Additionally, end consumers have the possibility to find suitable local workshops and retailers for purchasing the recommended product through the same interface.
Simple Input
Through the quick search function, which is available with an interface for end consumers or professional and independent workshops, the brand or vehicle model for which a Castrol product is sought can be entered directly. For initial selection, the KBA or key number of the vehicle or the search for a specific product name is also available. In the first case, a single term is sufficient to display the entire range of vehicle models listed under this name. For further narrowing down, the next selection lists the respective use cases and then directly shows the recommended products, if available.
Direct Path to the Product
Additionally, the product finder can now be used with even more devices. And for added convenience, useful features such as the "Sales Points" section contribute, presenting the user with the nearest points of sale through the integration of Google Maps.
The advantages of the new interface are highlighted by Danielle Fang, Media & Communications Specialist at Castrol: in the revision, special attention was paid to ensuring that technicians quickly find the product they seek for their maintenance and repair tasks. For an improved user interface, the experiences of professional users were also incorporated into the development:
“Based on feedback from our customers, we have made crucial improvements, such as simplifying navigation to ensure a seamless, user-friendly, and efficient product search.”
