Vecton 5W-30 F-Trucks CK-4 is the new lubricant in the commercial vehicle portfolio of the British manufacturer Castrol. According to the information provided, it precisely meets the approval requirements of Ford Trucks and can be used with models of these vehicles corresponding to the WSS-M2C213-A1 specification. It is also said to be specifically adapted to the needs of vehicle manufacturers who recommend the use of the categories Acea E6 and E9. With the API CK-4 specification, the product is also suitable for older high-performance diesel engines and those used in agriculture and construction.
Castrol Vecton – for high demands
With the Vecton product range for trucks, Castrol has developed a lubricant for heavily loaded diesel engines that is intended to retain its properties even under tough conditions. Due to the heavy strain in high-performance engines of modern trucks, the torque can be up to 30 percent higher, according to Castrol. As a result, the machines could be exposed to higher temperatures and pressure loads, which in turn promotes, among other things, oxidation, oil thickening, and residue formation. The faster decomposition due to the high stress thus reduces the oil's lifespan. Due to the oil thickening and harmful residues, critical engine components can also be less well supplied.
To extend durability, Castrol has implemented an additional "performance reserve" of up to 45 percent in the Vecton oils with its "System Pro Technology." This is said to enable lower oxidation, fewer residues, and the neutralization of harmful acids, allowing the oil to maintain its viscosity even at high temperatures and be used for a longer time. With this property that retains lubricating properties at high heat and counteracts residues, which also contributes to cleaning the pistons and thus protects the engine from heat damage, fuel savings can ultimately be achieved. Corrosive wear, in turn, is counteracted by supporting acid neutralization.

Castrol has planned the market launch of the new commercial vehicle oil, adapted to the requirements of the European market, in parallel with the product planning of Ford Trucks for Europe. The new Castrol Vecton 5W-30 F-Trucks CK-4 not only combats oxidation and oil thickening but also limits harmful residues and protects surfaces from corrosive wear by supporting acid neutralization, reports the manufacturer.
The provider also promises more safety throughout the entire oil change interval and overall improved engine protection for modern trucks. The lubricant comes in a 208-liter drum and can be obtained through suppliers and dealers.
