At the Aftersales Fair AutoZum 2025 in Salzburg, the Turkish commercial vehicle tire manufacturer Petlas also took part in the fair activities. The company, headquartered in central Turkey's Kirşehir, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, expressed satisfaction with its participation in its press release: it was able to present its variety of tires and take the opportunity to network with automotive industry professionals, dealers, and customers.
Products for Industrial Applications
Petlas covers a wide range of tires for professional applications: the portfolio includes dimensions for cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, utility and construction vehicles, agricultural and off-highway applications, as well as various types of industrial uses. Tires for civilian and military vehicles are also among the products produced at the headquarters and exported to more than 100 countries worldwide.
According to its own information, the company's production capacity, which employs around 4,600 people in total, is about 13 million tires per year. Solutions for military purposes serve defense and transport vehicles of various sizes as well as military aircraft.
Expanding Network
At the trade fair for the automotive parts trade, Petlas made contacts with other visitors, familiarized itself with market conditions, and inquired about customer wishes. With its presence at the fair, the company aimed to strengthen its position in the European market and attract new customers. And it said:
“The contacts offered the opportunity to find out how the tire needs of the region can be supported and aims to offer solutions tailored specifically to market needs.”
In its summary, the company views the trade fair event as an enriching experience. Indeed, it has been able to strengthen relationships with partners and customers and highlight its progressive approach. Petlas now intends to use the insights gained to develop appropriate strategies and tailored product offerings specifically for the regional market.
Sema Öner, International Marketing Manager at Petlas, emphasizes the high value of the fair as a showcase for its tire solutions. In addition, valuable information for the company's objectives can be gained from such events. The company intends to incorporate this into future planning:
“We were able to gain valuable insights into market needs. The feedback received will significantly influence our future strategies, for which we are grateful to all involved.”
Petlas was founded in 1976 in Turkey to meet the needs of the defense industry, initially for military aircraft tires. The company was privatized in 1997 and subsequently expanded its product range. In 2005, it was acquired by Abdülkadir Özcan Anonim Şirketi, a leading tire company in Turkey. In 2020, a dedicated R&D center was established.
